Binance CEO CZ follows Trump’s family growing ties to the crypto-industry
Five days after President Trump pardoned the founder of Binance the world's largest crypto exchange the company helped boost Trump’s fortunes by promoting his family’s own crypto product, a digital coin USD1.
Trump has pardoned or commuted the sentences of more than 1,600 people in his second term, after issuing clemency to another 237 people during his first term.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said Trump had "exercised his constitutional authority by issuing a pardon for Mr. Zhao, who was prosecuted by the Biden administration in their war on cryptocurrency."

Binance did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Zhao, one of the most powerful people in the crypto world, had to step down as chief of Binance when the company agreed to a $4.3 billion settlement with the U.S. government to end a yearslong probe into misconduct at the world's largest crypto exchange.
